x402

Current payment protocol

x402

x402 v2 exact is the first supported payment protocol. Fiscal402 observes settlement. It does not issue HTTP 402 or move funds.

Position relative to x402

x402 is a machine-payment protocol. A client hits a paid resource, receives HTTP 402 with payment requirements, settles, and retries with proof. Fiscal402 is not that protocol.

Fiscal402 reads settlement evidence after the transfer exists — typically from an x402 v2 exact PAYMENT-RESPONSE or from POST /settlements. Scheme exact means one transfer of amount of asset to payTo.

What Fiscal402 will not do on this rail

  • Issue the HTTP 402 challenge.
  • Choose a facilitator.
  • Broadcast or confirm the payment itself, except optional later chain checks.
  • Split the exact transfer toward a Fiscal402 wallet.

Networks and asset

Ingest accepts a CAIP-2 network string and an asset identifier. Current FX and, when enabled, on-chain USDC Transfer checks cover eip155:1 (Ethereum) and eip155:8453 / eip155:84532 (Base). Other rails are not live.
